Police Commissioner calls for formation of panels in educational institutions

City police commissioner B Anuradha has called for forming of anti-drug committees in government and private schools and appealed to teachers and parents to keep an eye on the activities of children.
She said eradication of drugs is everyone’s responsibility. “Let us drive away drugs from society so that the posterity inherits a drugs-free society.” She appealed to all to get themselves involved in the fight against the abuse of drugs and smuggling of narcotics.
Speaking as chief guest after administering oath to students in connection with observing International Day Against Drug Abuse on Wednesday, she observed that some of the youth getting attracted towards drugs abuse and destroying their golden future.  The police have been maintaining strict vigil on them.
She distributed merit certificates among the students who won prizes in elocution and painting competition.
Those who consume marijuana and other narcotic substances will lose their mental balance and are likely to commit crimes, she observed. These substances would have adverse impact on human health.
The youth in rural as well as urban areas should cultivate good habits and follow the guidance of their parents and teachers, paying heed to their advice, so that they will have bright future, she observed.
The police would deal with drug racket sternly, however big position they might be occupying, she said warning them without mincing words.
The narcotic drugs should be kept out of the reach of the students and everyone should strive to achieve the drugs-free society.
In connection with observing International Day Against Drug Abuse on June 26, she appealed to the Youth and students to become members of anti-drugs’ committees and cooperate with the government by becoming anti-drugs soldiers.
The police team of artistes and Telangana Samskrutika Saradhi team explained the people adverse impact of the substance abuse through songs.

Additional DCP S Malla Reddy, Armed Reserve DCPs Ramachandra Rao, Subhash Chandra Bose, Siddipet ACP Madhu, excise superintendent Srinivasa Murthy, DWO Sarada, inspectors Lakshmi Babu, Vidyasagar, Upender Ramakrishna and other police personnel, personnel working in the Siddipet police commissioner’s office, government, private colleges and schools management and students took part in the event.
