Police impose traffic curbs for New Year

In view of the New Year celebrations on December 31 restrictions and guidelines are issued by Hyderabad Traffic Police on Saturday.
The vehicular traffic will not be allowed on NTR Marg, PVNR Marg (Necklace Road) and Upper Tankbund from 10 pm to 2 am on the intervening night of  December 31, 2023 and January 1, 2024.
The motorists are requested to take alternate routes. The vehicular traffic coming from VV Statue (Khairatabad) towards Necklace Road via Khairatabad flyover will be diverted at VV Statue towards Raj Bhavan Road. From BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg will be diverted at Telugu Thalli Junction towards Lakadikapul.
Traffic from Liberty Junction will not be allowed towards Upper Tankbund. Hence commuters are requested to take left at Ambedkar statue towards Telugu thalli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi and other alternate roads. From Khairatabad Market and going towards Necklace Rotary will be diverted at Khairatabad (Bada Ganesh) towards Rajdoot lane and Lakdikapul.
The Mint compound lane adjacent to Secretariat will be closed for general vehicular traffic. From Nallagutta Railway Bridge will not be allowed towards Sanjeevaiah Park and PVNR Marg and will be diverted towards Ranigunj or Minister Road. From Secunderabad traffic will be diverted at the Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda X Roads, Lower Tank Bund, Katta Maisamma Temple, left turn & Ashok Nagar, RTC X Roads.
The PVNR Express flyover will be available for the passengers who are bound for the RGIA airport on showing the Air Ticket. The Nehru Outer Ring Road will be closed for light motor vehicles except the vehicles bound towards the Airport from 10 pm to 5 am.
If anyone caught under drunk and driving, A penalty of Rs. 10000, imprisonment of up to 6 months for the first offence and a penalty of Rs. 15000 and/or imprisonment of up to 2 years for a second or subsequent offence.
Also, all their driving licenses will be seized
