Tension gripped the Venkatramana theatre when police prevented people wearing saffron kanduvas from entering the theatre where the film ‘The Kerala Story’ was being screened. A verbal duel took place between the police and the audience.
The police made it clear that they will not allow them inside the theatre if they do not remove their saffron kanduvas and this sparked a protest against the police.
Speaking on the occasion, a saffron kanduva-wearing person said that the police were not allowing Hindus to watch the film wearing saffron kanduvas and tilaks. “Are we in Pakistan or Afghanistan as the police are not allowing Hindus,” they said.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had given a call to the people to see the film ‘The Kerala Story’ to know about love jihad. The VHP also gave a call to the people to make others watch the film so that awareness about terrorism increases.
The VHP’s Telangana Pramukh said that they are booking tickets to show the film to all Hindus. The VHP said that they will book as many tickets as the people wanted and asked them to send a message to WhatsApp on the number 9912975753.
