The police in Nagarkurnool on Thursday invoked the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCS) Act against three persons for allegedly kidnapping a deaf and dumb minor girl on Tuesday.
According to the sub-inspector of police Vijaykumar, three persons had abducted the girl from her home on Tuesday and confined her in an abandoned house. The police arrived on the scene after the girl’s parents made a call to 100 after searching for her in the neighbourhood. On seeing the police, the girl ran out of the house.
It is suspected that woman in the neighbourhood bore a grudge against the girl’s mother and engineered the kidnap of the minor girl. The police launched a hunt for the accused.
