Political parties urged to appoint booth-level agents

District Collector Valluru Kranti on Wednesday asked the representatives of various political parties to appoint booth-level polling agents.
Addressing an all-party meeting at the Collectorate here, the Collector sought the cooperation of all political parties in the conduct of the door-to-door survey to prepare the voters’ list without any errors.  Wherever necessary, existing polling booths are being divided and new polling booths would be set up. If the political outfits happened to identify such polling booths, he asked them to bring it to his notice. The draft voters’ list would be published on October 29, she said asking the representatives of political parties to carefully inspect the names of the voters. To undertake the process, she wanted the political parties to appoint their agents in all polling booths.
Special campaigns at the polling booth level would be conducted twice between October 29 and November 28, she said. During the special campaign, objections if any to the draft voters’ list would be rectified.
