Senior Congress leader Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy said that politicians are taking money from contractors and remaining silent. He said the Congress must launch a protest against the BRS government for taking a 70 per cent commission leaving Karnataka’s 40 per cent corruption aside for now.

He said that a Rs 48,000 crore scam took place in the Kaleshwaram Project and asked Congress MPs to settle the matter on Kaleshwaram Project corruption.

He said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Ministers T. Harish Rao and KT Rama Rao have to take responsibility for the corruption in the Kaleshwaram Project and added that KCR has become a pest.

Addressing the media at Somajiguda on Thursday Nagam said that KCR is the reason Telangana is facing danger in the Krishna River water dispute.

“Doesn’t the Chief Minister have the responsibility to stop the looting of Telangana’s public funds? How many times has KCR cut his neck as he had declared that he will cut his neck if he cannot provide jobs to every household,” he said.

He gave a shock to the Congress by holding a press conference at the Somajiguda Press Club instead of at the Gandhi Bhavan hinting that he is not happy with the party.

In tune with the hint, Nagam criticised the Congress and the entry of Jupally Krishna Rao and Kuchukulla Damodar Reddy into the Congress and for giving too much importance to them.

Targeting Jupally, Nagam said that he doesn’t know when Jupalli became such a big leader as he has been demanding tickets for Kollapur, Nagarkurnool, Gadwal and Wanaparthy constituencies.

He said that Jupalli Krishna Rao suddenly entered the scene at a time when Congress leader Jagdeeshwara Rao was working for the party in the constituency.

“Nothing will happen due to the entry of Jupally into the Congress although many people had been creating an impression that something will happen after Jupally joins the Congress,” he said.

“I will be with the Congress. I had worked for the Congress for the last five years when there was no one in the party. Jupally and Kuchukulla joined now and are saying that the party’s tickets belong to them. Kuchukulla has not joined the Congress formally. What is the guarantee that Kuchukulla will not go back to the BRS after winning on a Congress ticket? I worked for Kuchukulla’s victory as an MLC. I am a senior in politics but I am not a senior in the Congress. I would also apply for a ticket after discussing with party activists,” he said.

It may be recalled that Jupally and Kuchukulla Damodar Reddy’s son Rajesh Reddy joined the Congress recently in New Delhi. Kuchukulla has not yet joined the Congress formally but is moving with Congress leaders.
