Polling officers advised to ensure trouble-free polling

District Election Officer (DEO) Ronald Rose said on Saturday that the constituency level training officers should work hard to ensure that no mistakes would arise on the Election Day, The polling officers and other election staff are advised to take all steps. On Saturday, the DEO held a meeting with training officers at the GHMC head office.
He said that there is a need to hold one more training session for Presiding Officers (PO) and Assistant Presiding Officers (APO) to ensure that no mistakes are made by POs.
The DEO said that the Election officials and staff have been given the opportunity to vote through postal ballot and they can also take special casual leave to vote in their hometown. The POs should be fully trained on how to conduct mock polls on election day and how to vote if one’s name is on the absentee, shifted and dead (ASD) list.
Additional Collector Hemant Keshav Patil, Cantonment CEO Madhukar Naik, Deputy Collector Vijayalakshmi, Training Nodal Officer Sunanda, Chief Entomologist Dr Rambabu and others participated in this meeting.
