Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy expressed dissatisfaction over the slow progress in regularisation of unauthorised layouts (LRS) and instructed collectors to expedite pending applications. During a video conference with district collectors on Tuesday, the Telangana government is set to provide a digital health profile card to every family in the State, irrespective of economic status, according to the Minister.
The Minister emphasised that the digital family card will include a unique number for each household and will ensure seamless benefits to citizens without any errors in data collection. The Minister, along with Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, discussed various matters including digital health cards, the Urban Development Authority (UDA), regularisation of unauthorised layouts (LRS), double bedroom houses and paddy procurement.
He directed the officials to ensure meticulous collection of family data in the 238 pilot areas selected from 119 constituencies, with door-to-door surveys scheduled between October 3 and 7. Special officers from the RDO and Zonal Commissioner levels will oversee the implementation of the project.

The Minister called for proposals from collectors to expand the jurisdiction of the UDA and set up new authorities. Acknowledging the incomplete double bedroom housing projects, the Minister directed district collectors to ensure that fully completed houses are handed over to beneficiaries by the Dasara festival. He announced the formation of a committee headed by the in-charge minister to oversee the process.
With heavy rains affecting 29 districts, the government has allocated Rs 3 crore per district for repairs, with Rs 5 crore each for Khammam, Suryapet, Kothagudem and Mahabubabad. Municipalities and corporations have also been allotted Rs 1 crore and Rs 2 crore respectively. The Minister instructed the collectors to prioritise repairs for government schools, primary health centres and Anganwadis.
The government is implementing its election promise of providing a Rs 500 per quintal bonus for 35 types of fine rice varieties from this Kharif season. The State is setting up 7,144 procurement centres across Telangana, with separate centres for fine and coarse varieties. An estimated 50 lakh metric tonnes of fine rice and 30 lakh metric tonnes of coarse rice are expected this season.
