Former AICC president Rahul Gandhi welcomed suspended BRS leader Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy into the Congress by offering him a party kanduva, at the Khammam public meeting named ‘Telangana Jana Garjana’ held on Sunday.
Leaders Koram Kanakaiah, Pidamarthi Ravi, Arikela Narsa Reddy, Payam Venkateshwarlu, DV Rao, Papi Reddy and many others joined the Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul also greeted CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka after he completed his 109-day padayatra spanning 1,360 km. Balladeer Gaddar kissed Rahul Gandhi when TPCC President Revanth Reddy introduced him to Rahul.
Ready to open new chapter
AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge tweeted on Sunday on the occasion of suspended BRS leader Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy joining the Congress and the conclusion of CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s padayatra.
Kharge said that the Congress’ blueprint to open a new chapter in Telangana is ready. Kharge tweeted, “The 3.8 crore people of Telangana want change. Shri @RahulGandhi’s #TelanganaJanaGarjana grand rally will voice their shared aspirations, today. We congratulate CLP leader, Shri@BhattiCLP on the completion of his 1,360 km long Padayatra, today at Khammam. Several senior leaders will join the Congress and strengthen the hands of the people. I joined Congress to defeat KCR, says Ponguleti
After joining the Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that he joined the Congress to defeat KCR in the next elections and free Telangana from the rule of the Kalvakuntla family.
He said that people would certainly dump the BRS into the Bay of Bengal and that the graph of the Congress has risen all over the nation.
He said that the end of KCR has started and declared that he was confident that the Congress will come to power. He said that they will expose the corruption of KCR and that the BRS government did not fulfil even a single promise.
Farmers and the unemployed are not happy with the BRS, he said and assured that they will implement the Warangal Declaration and Youth Declaration.
Ponguleti said that the nation is being ruled by corrupt elements and that there is a need to make Rahul the Prime Minister. He gave a call to all Congress leaders to work hard to make Rahul the Prime Minister.
