Ponnam, Bandi engaged in slanging match

With Lok Sabha polls drawing nearer, the political scenario has been taking a curious turn. The Congress and BJP leaders have been trading charges at each other.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Karimnagar Lok Sabha member Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who has been renominated from Karimnagar, were engaged in a slanging match and made challenges and counter challenges.
Bandi Sanjay, who embarked on his PrajaHita Yatra, campaign in the constituency, refuted allegations levelled against him by Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and offered to quit politics if he failed to win in the upcoming elections.
He offered to never speak about Hindutva in case of his defeat. He dared Ponnam Prabhakar whether he would quit as Minister if the Congress candidate in Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency was to be defeated.
Addressing the gathering at the PrajaHita Yatra held in Husnabad on Tuesday, Bandi Sanjay alleged that the single-point agenda of BRS working president KT Rama Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar is to criticise him day in and day out. He became rather angry at Ponnam targeting him in his criticism for his fault questioning the government on the implementation of the election promises.
He clarified that he had not made any remarks against Ponnam Prabhakar’s mother. He charged Ponnam Prabhakar with trying to derive political mileage.
The Modi government spent Rs 697 crore for the development of Husnabad constituency. For his fault of fighting for the cause of the people, over a hundred cases have been foisted against him to lodge him in jail. He sought to know from people whether Ponnam fought for the cause of the people.
He insisted that the Congress implement 423 promises made to the people ahead of the elections besides the six guarantees.
Implementing the poll promises pending issue of new ration cards would amount to cheating the public, he opined.

Former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao borrowed Rs 5 lakh crore in 10 years, while the Congress government in two months of its stint borrowed Rs 10,000 crore.
