Poor openings for Ajith Kumar in Telugu

Ajith Kumar’s Tamil film ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ is releasing in Telugu as ‘Pattudala’ on Thursday. It seems, there are no takers for the Telugu version as the bookings were completely empty for Thursday. The film’s publicity is also not done in Telugu and so the openings are very poor. Generally, Ajith has always maintained a distance from publicity of his films. As he is a big star in Tamil, the openings may be good there; but when it comes to Telugu, it is completely different.
Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra are also there in the film. The budget of this film is also high with approximately Rs 250 crore to Rs 300 crore. The overseas market for Ajith is also good, but how this film fares there also we have to wait and see. The film was supposed to be released on Sankranthi, but postponed due to some unknown reasons. Anirudh Ravichander is providing the music, while big production house Lyca is producing it.
The film is based on the Hollywood film ‘Breakdown’ that was released in 1995. Kurt Russel is the lead actor, while Jonathan Mostow is the director. It is a thriller genre and director Magizh Thirumeni made a few changes to suit the Indian milieu.
