Komatireddy Venkata Reddy has announced plans to establish an alternative power feeder to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Nalgonda town during the upcoming summer. Multiple substations are being set up across the town to meet the increasing power demand.
On Saturday, the Minister inaugurated a 33/11 kV substation at the Beat Market, built at a cost of Rs 3 crores.
He emphasised that electricity demand would significantly rises in summer due to widespread use of air conditioners and fans, and more substations are being created to meet this demand.
Additionally, with the completion of the Beat Market substation, along with those planned for Munugode Road, Devarakonda Road, and Panagal Sawarkar Shivaji Nagar, the town will receive 24-hour electricity supply without interruptions.
The Minister also highlighted the increased electricity demand due to the filling of the Brahman Vellemala Reservoir and urged the electricity department to ensure uninterrupted service.
He recalled that it was during the tenure of the late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s government that farmers were provided free electricity.
Further developments in Nalgonda include the allocation of Rs 500 crore for drinking water, underground drainage, and road improvements.
11 large water tanks are being built, and by April, Krishna drinking water would be supplied to every household. Additionally, works for underground drainage and cement concrete roads will commence soon with 109 crores allocated.
As the Municipal Council’s term ends on Sunday, the District Collector and officials have been urged to continue ensuring public services without disruption.
