Telangana’s power supply system collapsed due to negligence in the last 10 years, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said. “We are moving forward by preventing losses in a planned manner,” the CM added.

The CM was speaking while attending May Day celebrations at the Ravindra Bharathi on Thursday.

The CM said that the role of SCCL, TGSRTC, electricity employees and unorganised workers in achieving the Telangana State is noteworthy.

“The government is formulating plans to support workers. Telangana is at the forefront in solving unemployment. The credit for giving a share of the profits of SCCL and bonus to workers goes to the Congress,” he said.

The CM said that compassionate appointments have been made in the TGSRTC, and that the government is constantly working for the welfare of workers. “Our government’s policy is to help all workers. A policy for gig workers and unorganised workers will be introduced soon,” the CM said.

“The BRS government discriminated against workers. The BRS government suppressed the TGSRTC workers’ strike, and 50 workers died. The government will hold talks regarding the strike by TGSRTC workers soon,” the CM said and appealed to TGSRTC workers to call off the strike. “Now the TGSRTC is earning profits. The responsibility to protect the TGSRTC is with the workers,” the CM added.

He said that Telangana witnessed only destruction in the last 10 years. The BRS rulers left unpaid bills of Rs 50,000 crore pending for contractors and Rs 1.20 lakh crore pending in other departments. The BRS government is also responsible for the long-pending dues of sarpanches, he said.

He said the BRS government created a debt burden of Rs 8.29 lakh crore on the Congress government.
“The Rs 1 lakh crore Kaleshwaram Project collapsed in just three years. The state was exploited during the last 10 years. I and all other Ministers have been spending sleepless nights during the last 15 months,” the CM said.

The CM appealed to TGSRTC workers to withdraw their strike and hold talks with the minister. The CM said the government is ready to give the entire income of the TGSRTC to workers, and they should suggest how to spend the money. The government will not take even a single Rupee and is ready to spend it all for RTC workers, the CM said.

“The state’s financial condition is bad, and so I am appealing to TGSRTC workers to think about that for a moment. I took the responsibility of providing all details to the people, even though I was facing difficulties. The strike will ruin the state. TGSRTC workers are like our family members. The state’s financial condition is on a positive trajectory and will recover by next year. Do not fall into the trap set by leaders who did nothing for the state in the last 10 years. Don’t get caught in their trap,” the CM said.

The CM said that people have not forgotten the harm done by KCR. “The MLAs sent by KCR to the Assembly are making a mockery of democracy. KCR promised to make a Dalit the CM but did not do so. He should at least give an opportunity to a Dalit leader to be the opposition leader in the Assembly. The master of deceit is out again. People should be alert,” the CM said.

“TGSRTC workers should have confidence in the government. The policy on gig workers will be a role model for the country. No one can stop Telangana Rising,” the CM said.
