In all, 200 people conducted a rally and protested at Praja Bhavan on Tuesday to release the sanctioned amount of Dalit Bandhu to beneficiaries. They said that they have been selected in the second phase of Dalit Bandhu scheme during the BRS government. But at the same time election code was announced and money was not paid to selected people.
A protester said that those who have been selected in the 2nd phase of Dalitha Bandhu scheme have not received any amount for the last nine months. “At the initial stage, election code was announced but it has been around nine months, but the government has not paid any assistance to us,” he said.
Another protester said that during the BRS government, some people have been selected under the Dalit Bandhu scheme in the second phase. “But at that same time, elections were announced and it was postponed. So, we are asking the present government to release Rs 12 lakh to every beneficiary under the Ambedkar Abhayahastham scheme,” he said.
They demanded the government to release Rs 3 lakh to every selected beneficiary of Dalith Bandhu scheme soon.
Another protester said that the previous government had allocated Rs 3 lakh each to every beneficiary under the scheme. But the present government did not pay the money. Though the elections were completed, the government had not released the amount to the beneficiaries.
“A few days back, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said that they would release the money in seven days. But it has been more than 15 days but no Dalit in the State has received any amount from the government,” he added.
The Prajavani has received a total of 1150 applications from the people in the State. Out of them, the SC welfare department has received 610 applications, Energy and Singareni 115 applications, Civil supplies 113 grievances, Minority welfare department 85 applications, Revenue department 69 applications and the remaining departments received 158 grievances.
