Prakasam district achieves 6th place in ‘Jagananna Suraksha’

Prakasam district has achieved the 6th place in the State by providing 99.52% services in the ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ programmes.

Disclosing this at a press conference here Tuesday, Collector AS Dinesh Kumar said that Prakasam district has achieved 6 th place for providing 99.52 services to the people during the Jagananna Suraksha programmes held at various places in the district, adding that a total of 4,63,919 appeals were received during the Jagananna Suraksha programme till July 31 our of which 4,61,521 applications have been resolved.

He said that applications received seeking Integrated Certificates, Income Certificates, Mobile Number Linking Update with Aadhaar, R.R.01B Certificates, Computerized Adangal, Addition of New Member in Ration Card, Registration of Birth and Death Certificates, Family Member Certificate, New Ration Card and C.C.R.C. Applications for services related to cards during the Suraksha programmes.

The Collector said that 1,84,204 requests were received seeking various services in Ongole division, 1,65,000 in Markapuram division and 1,14,715 in Kanigiri division. As part of the programmes, volunteers went to every house a week in advance to inquire about the government schemes and services being provided to the people and identified if there are any other services that are needed.

He said that these were resolved within a week and Jagananna Suraksha special camps were organized within the respective secretariats and the necessary certificates and services were provided to the beneficiaries.

Collector Dinesh Kumar said that requests for various services were received from 7,70,325 households out of which 6,71,098 were examined and resolved, adding that the requests were not fully resolved due to the fact that some of them were not at home. Their requests would also be resolved whenever they were available at homes, he stated.

The Collector said that the Aadhaar registration process of children under five years of age in the district was only 25 percent in the past, but it has increased to 50 percent due to the programme undertaken during this month, stating that measures will be taken at the secretariats level to achieve this 100 percent.

He said that 93% of households in the district are getting at least one benefit under the welfare schemes being implemented by the government. As many as 45.443 applications have been received seeking in various welfare schemes benefits and they are being examined. The state government is aimed at providing welfare scheme benefits to all eligible poor and steps were taken for the same,” the Collector made it clear.

Referring to the drinking water crisis at some places in the district, the Collector stated that water from the NS project is being supplied to the district. The Sagar water is diverted to the CPW schemes in Yerragondapalem, Markapuram and Darshi constituencies, the Collector added. Joint Collector K Srinivasulu was also present.
