Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy has directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations that will be held at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada on January 26. On Wednesday, the CS held a video conference with the officials of the concerned departments on the arrangements for the upcoming 74th Republic Day celebrations from the CS camp office in Vijayawada.
Speaking on this occasion, CS Jawahar Reddy directed the officials of the departments concerned on the arrangements to be undertaken by various departments in a planned manner so that the Republic Day celebrations could be organised successfully. The Republic Day Parade Chief Coordinator shall coordinate with the relevant departments and make the arrangements.
The CS has made it clear to the officials that elaborate arrangements should be made in such a way that there is no room for any mistakes as dignitaries like the Governor, Chief Minister and Chief Justice of the High Court will be present on the Republic Day celebrations. In this regard, the officers were ordered to prepare and submit a minute to minute programme.
He instructed the officials to coordinate with the personal secretaries for the arrival of VVIPs and take necessary measures to avoid any problems.
Special parking arrangements should be made for other vehicles including VIP vehicles coming for the RD celebrations.
The CS said that the rehearsals of the celebrations should be held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium and the parade should be fully prepared with full dress rehearsals on January 24. Steps should be taken to allot special seats for VVIPs and VIPs and other public representatives, the main stage should be designed as per the protocol, and steps should be taken to set up a fort-wall design in the stadium.
CS Jawahar Reddy ordered various departments to prepare tableaus highlighting their schemes in an attractive manner. A pipe band from Secunderabad, along with the army contingent and the State police battalions, NCC, scouts and guides and police band, will take part in the parade. The CS told the authorities to take steps to telecast the programme live. Dr Jawahar Reddy also ordered necessary arrangements for the high tea to be held at Raj Bhavan on the same day in coordination with Raj Bhavan officials.
