The District Medical and Health Department officials, including Dr Gopal Rao, the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), Dr Kranti, the Deputy DMHO of ITDA, Dr Chandrakant, the District Vector-borne Disease and TB Control Officer, In-charge Demo Sampath, and DEO Kiran, visited Pasra. They inspected the labs, operation theatres, wards, scanning machines, and records at Jaya and Sri Chakra Nursing Homes.
They instructed the staff to display doctors’ details and price lists as per the Clinical Establishment Act, maintain biological waste management, and have pollution certificates. They also emphasised that gender determination tests should not be conducted, and if done, legal action would be taken against the nursing homes under the PNDT Act. Dr Gopal Rao informed the nursing home administrators about these regulations.
Further, the nursing homes were issued show-cause notices due to the absence of doctors’ details and certificates for paramedical staff, as well as a lack of biological waste management certification, pollution certificates, and fire safety certificates. These notices were served to Jaya Nursing Home and Sri Chakra Nursing Home.
