The Congress leaders of Nalgonda, particularly R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, have appealed to the party to organise a public meeting of two lakh people and invite AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi to it to counter the February 13 BRS meeting, it is learnt.
Nalgonda Congress leaders expressed their opinion at the Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) meeting held on Tuesday at the Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.
The PEC meeting passed a single-line resolution asking Sonia Gandhi to contest from Telangana in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The PEC members ticked three names for each constituency in the 32-page booklet which had 309 names. The booklet was supplied by the Gandhi Bhavan staff. PEC members have to return the booklets before Wednesday afternoon.
However, PEC Chairman Revanth Reddy directed Congress leaders to focus on the corruption in the Kaleshwaram Project. Revanth said the Congress government will not let go of anyone who engaged in corruption.

The CM made it clear that the government will take action against the guilty as per law and that the government will not let go of officials as well as political leaders.
He said that Congress workers must work hard to win 16 Lok Sabha seats from TS.
AICC General Secretary in-charge Deepa Das Munshi, Election Screening Committee Chairman Harish Choudhary, Ministers, and PEC and Screening Committee members attended the meeting.
