The Congress said that the Kollapur public meeting, ‘Palamuru Prajabheri,’ scheduled for July 30 has been postponed due to heavy rains. The party said that the high command will take a decision on the next date for conducting the meeting.
The Congress had planned to conduct the meeting attended by AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi to release its ‘Women Declaration.’
Speaking to the media on Thursday after the meeting at Kollapur with party leaders, TPCC Senior Vice-President Mallu Ravi said that Priyanka Gandhi was the chief guest and she would release the ‘Women Declaration’ at the public meeting which would be held at a later date.
Mallu Ravi called upon Congress activists to attend the public meeting in large numbers and make it a success.Nagarkurnool DCC President Vamshikrishna said that the Palamuru Praja Bheri was postponed due to weather conditions.
Former Minister Jupally Krishan Rao said that Delhi observers had come to visit the venue on Wednesday where Palamuru Praja Bheri public meeting was planned and they had said that the weather was not suitable for Priyanka to come to the venue. After their observations, the TPCC postponed the public meeting, Jupally Krishna Rao said.
Mallu Ravi, Jupally Krishna Rao, MPP Megha Reddy, TPCC general secretary Abhilash Rao, Nagarkurnool Parliament Coordinator Elugonda Madhusudhan Reddy, TPCC Organising Secretary Jaggu, Kollapur Block Congress President Ramu Yadav, Kollapur Mandal Congress President Parusharam Naidu, and Kollapur town Congress President Kantha Rao attended the meeting.
