Minister for Finance and Health T Harish Rao on Saturday assured the people that the State government would complete the construction of the Palamuru-Ranganareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) by next July-August and provide water for irrigation.

Speaking at a function, shortly after inaugurating a 100-bed hospital, built at a cost of Rs 30 crore at Jadcherla, the Minister said, “Reverse migration is taking place in the combined Mahabubnagar district is proof of transformation.” The transformation took place under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, he pointed out.

Harish Rao reminded the people that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi government established the first medical college in Mahabubnagar in the new State of Telangana. Now the undivided Mahabubnagar district can boast of five medical colleges. Apart from it, a 500-bed hospital would soon come up in Mahabubnagar. The newly-inaugurated hospital was equipped with modern facilities, like an emergency intensive care unit, dialysis, paediatric, etc, he said.

He further said that the State government established a 100-bed hospital in each Assembly constituency. The government would establish 500-bed hospitals too soon. The government sanctioned Fisheries and Agricultural Colleges too for Mahabubnagar district.

The schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bheema, Kalyana Lakshmi, Kanti Velugu and pensions were being copied by the governments in the country.

Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud, Jadcherla MLA C Laxma Reddy and Lok Sabha member Manne Srinivas Reddy also spoke.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Swarna Sudhakar Reddy, Vice-Chairman K Yadaiah, District Collector G Ravi Nayak, District Superintendent of Police K Narasimha and others were present.
