Probe into morphing of women’s photos

In a move against cybercrime, the City police have launched an investigation into a case involving the morphing of personal photos of young women through artificial intelligence on Telegram channels.
“We have registered a case and commenced the inquiry against an individual who targeted young women on social media platforms,” stated DCP Srinivasa Rao. “The accused, a graduate in Agricultural B.Sc., employed a methodical approach by sending friend requests to unsuspecting individuals through various social media accounts.”
The criminal’s modus operandi involved accepting friend requests, particularly from anonymous Instagram accounts of unmarried girls. Subsequently, the perpetrator saved the personal photos of the victims in Telegram channels and employed artificial intelligence for morphing. The morphed images were then sent to the victims, accompanied by threats.
“The accused used advanced artificial intelligence techniques to morph the victims’ photos into obscene images,” revealed Crime Inspector R. Someswara Rao, who played a pivotal role in apprehending the criminal. “He then utilized these morphed images to blackmail and threaten the victims.”
Following a thorough investigation, the police successfully apprehended the accused and recovered his electronic devices.
