Process of greening should continue: Min Konda Surekha

Minister of Forestry, Environment and Taxation Konda Surekha stated that in terms of the environment, the changes coming around the world are a big challenge and the process of greening should continue as the forests are changing. She said this during a special review meeting on Green Fund Contributions and Expenditure on Wednesday.
The Minister said that Green Funds should be spent in a transparent and accountable manner. Every rupee received from people and employees should be properly accounted for in the process of greening and should continue with the participation of people.

Chief Officer RM Dobriel has showcased a Power-Point of contributions received till now under Harithanidhi and details of expenditure on forest conservation. During his presentation, he said, “Now through Harithanidhi which started in 2021, up to Rs 69.21 crore have been deposited and Rs 29.39 crore has been released, while Rs 18.72 crore has been sanctioned.
The increase is being done mainly with the funds received from Harithanidhi.” The Minister examined the quality of work being done and reported to Vani prasad, Chief Secretary of the Department.
She directed him to examine the audit reports and added that the funds should be immediately withdrawn from the districts and should be allocated for new works.
Trees like chinta, neem and rela are suitable for Telangana soil type and priority should
be given to planting them along the roads.
In this review meeting, PCCF (Haritha Haram) Suvarna, other officers and staff participated.
