Andhra University formally appointed Prof. EN Dhanamjaya Rao as its new Registrar on Monday, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s administrative leadership. The appointment ceremony took place on the university campus, where Prof. Dhanamjaya Rao succeeded Prof. N. Kishore Babu.
A distinguished senior professor of Geology with a renowned international academic reputation, Prof. Dhanamjaya Rao is poised to lead the university into a new era of growth and development. His appointment was formally announced by Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Sasibhushana Rao, who expressed confidence in the new Registrar’s ability to strengthen the university’s position both nationally and globally.
In his address, Prof. G. Sasibhushana Rao emphasised Prof. Dhanamjaya Rao’s wealth of experience and proven track record in academic leadership and international engagement. He highlighted the new Registrar’s dynamic vision and dedication, which will undoubtedly contribute to the university’s pursuit of academic excellence and global reach.
Prof. Dhanamjaya Rao brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the Registrar and In-Charge Vice-Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University. His tenure as Dean of International Affairs at AU is particularly noteworthy, having significantly increased the number of international students from 100 to 1,200 and attracting students from over 60 countries.
Upon assuming his new role, Prof. Dhanamjaya Rao expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to lead the university. He stated, “I am honoured to take on the responsibilities of Registrar at Andhra University, an institution with a rich legacy and immense potential. My focus will be on fostering international collaborations, enhancing academic programmes, and ensuring that our university remains at the forefront of higher education in India.”
