Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy has made it clear that immediate steps should be taken to fill the vacancies in various departments including village and ward secretariats in the newly-formed districts by rationalisation or promotion of the existing staff or by assigning in-charge responsibilities before the recruitment process is done.
A meeting of the secretaries was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary on Thursday.
He said village/ward secretariats should provide better services to the public.
The meet also discussed delegation of powers, filling up of Group 1 and 2 posts through APPSC, e-receipts through e-office, e-dispatch operationalisation, resolution of ACB, vigilance cases, video conferences with collectors and follow-up measures on various issues, providing prompt information on various LAQs and LCQs pending in connection with the assembly, monitoring system of the AP online legal cases etc.
Jawahar Reddy said that in the new districts, mandal and district-level posts in village and ward secretariats would be filled up by APPSC as soon as the recruitment process was done and the secretaries were instructed to take action.
The CS ordered to take steps for the probation declaration of the employees working in the village/ward secretariats. He said that the details of the vacant Group 1 and 2 level posts in various departments should be immediately handed over to the General Administration Department.
As the Assembly budget meetings are set to begin, the CS has ordered the secretaries of all departments to provide answers to the questions asked by the members of the Assembly and the Legislative Council as soon as possible. He ordered those concerned to constantly monitor pending ACB and Vigilance cases in various departments and work for prompt resolution of those cases. Similarly, under the AP Online Legal Case Management System, court cases registered in various departments should be filed on time counters and secretaries of all departments should be directed to take timely action in court cases.
Dr Jawahar Reddy said that a workshop would be organised with GPs and secretaries.
The Chief Secretary also directed the secretaries to take steps to resolve the demands related to non-economic aspects of the demands received from the employees associations in the previous joint council meetings.

Balakrishna Macharyu, KV. Satyanarayana and other heads of departments attended the meeting.
