Education Minister Nara Lokesh has strongly refuted allegations by YSRCP leaders that Rs 2,000 from the ‘Talli ki Vandanam’ scheme was diverted to his personal account. Issuing a 24-hour ultimatum, Lokesh demanded proof or a public apology, warning of legal action for false accusations.
He said 80% of government school students received school kits on the first day of the academic year, and the remaining 20% would receive them by June 20.
He urged mothers to activate dormant bank accounts to ensure smooth credit of scheme benefits.
Announcing new initiatives, Lokesh said fortified rice would be introduced in mid-day meals, and the “One Class – One Teacher” model was rolled out in 9,600 schools. He assured that teacher transfers would be completed by Monday.
