BJP Andhra Pradesh President and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Daggubati Purandeswari has been nominated to a high-level Indian delegation formed by the Central Government to engage with the international community on the issue of cross-border terrorism.
The initiative, launched in the aftermath of the recent Pahalgam terror attack which claimed 26 civilian lives, is part of “Operation Sindoor” — a diplomatic outreach aimed at sensitising global partners to the threats India faces and countering misinformation campaigns.
The Government of India has constituted seven all-party delegations comprising 59 representatives from across the political spectrum to visit 33 countries. MP Purandeswari is part of the eight-member delegation visiting the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark and the European Union headquarters. The delegation will be led by senior BJP leader and MP Ravi Shankar Prasad.
The mission seeks to highlight the challenges posed by cross-border terrorism and the need for global cooperation in addressing such threats, particularly those emanating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Expressing gratitude for being entrusted with this responsibility, Purandeswari termed it a “matter of national pride” and paid tribute to the lives lost in terror attacks. She described the assignment as a solemn duty to represent India’s concerns on the global stage.
