Krishna District Collector P Ranjith Basha has ordered the officials concerned to take necessary action to purchase discoloured paddy grains from the farmers. He further directed the officials to make sure that the farmers did not face any difficulties during the paddy procurement process.
At the Spandana programme held at the Machilipatnam Collectorate on Monday, some farmers submitted petitions to the Collector regarding paddy procurement. Later, the Collector ordered for purchase of discoloured paddy, spoilt due to the Mandous cyclone, as per the norms.
Joint Collector Aparajitha Singh revealed that the government had introduced a ‘Jaganannaku Chebudam’ grievance cell for receiving petitions directly through phone calls, and asked all the officials to act accordingly.
