Quality should be maintained in developmental works: Buggana

Minister for Finance Buggana Rajendranath Reddy has directed the officials concerned to take steps to ensure that quality is maintained in the development works.

The minister held a meeting at Yemmiganur on Monday with the officials and reviewed the development of Yemmiganur and Mantralaym constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, he directed the officials to hand over work to the agencies which give priority to maintaining quality. He underlined the need for coordination in carrying out the works of RWS.

“The Government has faced the Coronavirus pandemic and overcome the crisis. It is leading the State towards progress. The Opposition parties are misleading the people by launching false propaganda against the financial position. The people of the state have understood the situation,” the finance minister stated.

Alleging that the erstwhile TDP regime had kept pending bills of contractors worth crores of rupees, he said the Jagan Mohan Reddy government is clearing the old bills and at the same time taking up new projects.

The problems and other issues regarding irrigation projects, LLC, and Lift irrigation schemes were discussed and steps were taken to expedite the works, he made it clear.

The government has laid special focus on the state highways and steps taken for the repairs of damaged roads. “We have received problems from people during the Gadapa Gadapaku programme regarding electricity polls and revenue-related issues. Steps were taken to address them. The Gajuladinne project was developed in such a manner that it supplies water to Gonegandla and Krishnagiri for irrigation,” he claimed.

Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said that a medical college is coming up in Adoni, adding National Highway is being developed at a cost of Rs 2000 crore in the district by the Central government, adding that the minister said that a drinking water project STP was constructed in Kurnool city at a cost of Rs 140 crore.

“The foundation stone will be laid for the construction of the national law university by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy soon. The Silver Jubilee College is being modernized at a cost of Rs 130 crore. An industrial hub is being established at Orvakal on 9000 acres. The government is giving importance equally for the development of the state and for the implementation of welfare schemes,” he reiterated.

Collector G Srujana, ZP chairman Yerrabotula Papireddy, MLAs Balanagireddy, and Chenna Keshava Reddy were among those who were present.
