After playing Akshay Kumar’s wife in Baby, Madhurima Tuli is all set to play John Abraham’s wife in the action-thriller, Tehran. The actress has shot most of her portions already, and has revealed some interesting details to us!

“People do assume that I am going for the typical roles, lest they know these quintessential roles actually change the game for ‘me’. I can’t justify this: I am playing the role of a wife to a biggie, so why shouldn’t I do it will always be my stark question!

I already have refused many projects that didn’t give me the space to explore as a protagonist. I somewhere deep down feel contrite about it now, it was the ladder to my success. I was in a bubble that immediately landed me up on a big set! Now, I am back to my A-game: choosing smaller roles with bigger impacts and it’s okay.”

When she got the film Baby opposite Akshay Kumar, she was really thrilled. Coming to working with John in Tehran, she says, “While working with John, I found him to be one of the most personable men. He’s extremely friendly. Actually, it was always my mother’s dream to see me on big screens opposite/alongside superstars.”

Madhurima started her acting career with the show Kasturi in 2007. She is widely known for her roles in Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya and Princess Chandrakanta Singh in Colors TV’s Chandrakanta! She wanted Sriti Jha to go inside the Bigg Boss house where once she had been. A nasty fight with an ex-boyfriend is still remembered by the fans while we ask her belief on what happened, she says, “Yes, my image totally changed post my BB stint but I am not embarrassed at all. It was meant to happen, on the contrary, it appears laughable to me. I was really angry, Vishal was constantly prodding me with water. It was no less than harassment for me on national television. You can’t throw water on your face—anyone would grab the collar! Moreover, the house is so acute, it changes something inside you.”

Her role in the film is that of the cop’s wife, which revolves around how the cop’s life is always in danger, and he is out working while the wife stays with the kids, spending time alone. That’s the bond they share where they are there for each other, and Madhurima’s character is always under the fear that she might lose him any day, but she still remains strong for the family. “I have a knack for intellectualising my roles too because I am not that in reality,” she ended.
