Dubbaka MLA M. Raghunandan Rao is likely to get the BJP Floor Leader post and Eatala Rajender will be the Deputy Floor Leader or vice-versa in case the party considers Eatala Rajender’s name for the Floor Leader post as he is a senior legislator and has experience of being a Minister.

However, Eatala now is holding three party posts. He is a BJP National Executive Committee Member and the Chairman of the Telangana BJP Joining Committee and the Telangana BJP Election Management Committee.

Keeping the three party posts of Eatala in mind, the BJP may give a chance to Raghunandan Rao, who is hoping for the same as the party has suspended the current BJP Floor Leader Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh.

Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy said on Friday that the party is going to appoint a new BJP Floor Leader and a Deputy Floor Leader in the Assembly and that it is not a big issue.

BJP leaders said that the party may appoint Raghunandan Rao as the Floor Leader as he is eager to occupy the post. Now the question is whether Eatala Rajender will accept the Deputy Floor Leader post or not in case the party gives the Floor Leader post to Raghunandan Rao.

It may be recalled that Raja Singh has been acting as the BJP’s Floor Leader, but the BJP suspended him from the party. After that, Raghunandan had been expecting the Floor Leader post. He had also criticised former Telangana BJP President Sanjay regarding this.

Whether Raghunandan or Eatala, the new Floor Leader will be functioning only for a session as the monsoon session is going to be the last one of the current Assembly. It will become the first and last session of the new BJP Floor Leader.

Kishan Reddy said that the importance of Assembly sessions came down after KCR became the Chief Minister. KCR has been arresting opposition leaders who speak in the Assembly, he said. He said that earlier governments used to respect opposition leaders in the Assembly.

Kishan said that the differences between him and Raja Singh are an old issue. “The issue of the suspension of Raja Singh is a matter concerning the party’s national leadership. I have no enmity with anyone within the party,” he said.

Stating that he did not see the tweet of BJP National Executive Committee Member Vijayashanthi, he said, “What is wrong in meeting former CM N. Kiran Kumar Reddy as he is now a BJP leader?” He said they will discuss the party’s internal issues internally.

Kishan criticised the BRS government for allowing the Congress to lay a siege on the GHMC office on Friday as the same government did not allow him to visit double-bedroom houses in Batasingaram village.

He said that the Manipur incidents took place after a court verdict. The incidents are not an issue between two religions but it is a fight between two groups. He said that a team is working to bring about peace in Manipur and that there were social relations between the peoples of Manipur and Myanmar as people come and go from here to there and back.

He said that inductions into the party are a continuous process. Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s tour was cancelled again due to floods and the Parliament session. Amit is dealing with the no-confidence motion and so his tour was cancelled, Kishan said.

He said that BJP President JP Nadda has been enquiring about the flood situation in TS.
Kishan said that the Centre is extending a grant of Rs 4 lakh to the families of those who died in the floods. He said that he will visit Warangal, Hanmakonda, Bhupalapally and Khammam districts on Sunday to survey flood-affected areas.
