In a new twist to the viral video drama in which a woman named Lakshmi accused Jana Sena Party (JSP) Tirupati in-charge Kiran Royal of defrauding her of Rs 1.20 crore and threatening her children, the Rajasthan police arrested her on Monday. Her arrest comes amid a controversy over the circulation of private videos allegedly linked to Kiran Royal, which led the Jana Sena high command to temporarily distance itself from him.
Lakshmi was taken into custody by Rajasthan police soon after she addressed a press conference at the Tirupati Press Club. She was reportedly wanted in an online fraud case under investigation by Jaipur police. Authorities had been searching for her, and her public appearances led them to locate and arrest her in Tirupati. She was later taken to the SV University Police Station for further legal proceedings.
Earlier in the day, Lakshmi had reiterated her allegations against Kiran Royal, insisting that she had no political affiliations and seeking justice. She appealed to political leaders, including Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to intervene in her case.
Dismissing Royal’s claim that their financial dealings had been settled a decade ago, she pointed out that he had issued a bond just two years ago. She alleged that since Jana Sena is in power, no action had been taken against him despite her complaints.
Expressing concern for her and her children’s safety, Lakshmi accused Royal and his associates of making derogatory remarks about her. She also alleged that he had physically assaulted another woman inside her home but that the victim was too afraid to file a complaint. Calling him a “despicable man,” she demanded that he be held accountable.
Lakshmi’s arrest has now added a new dimension to the controversy, raising questions about both her allegations and her legal troubles.
