BJP MLA from Goshamahal T Raja Singh addressed a letter to Union Home Minister Amit
Shah requesting him to ban the Zee Studios permanently for producing a film named ‘
Annapoorani’. Nayanatara starred as Annapoorani’ has become a centre point for the
controversies with a single dialogue “Lord Srirama is a non-vegetarian and it is mentioned in the Valmiki’s Ayodhya Kanda.”.
Several people lodged a complaint with the police in Mumbai alleging that the film is insulting Lord Rama. Shiv Sena former leader Ramesh Solanki lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police expressing his objections on some scenes in the film.
Raja Singh too responded to the film and addressed a letter to the Union Home Minister. Raja Singh appealed to Amit Shah to initiate stringent action to see that the producers, director and actors not to produce such films in future.
Raja Singh said that he came to know that Zee Studios tendered apologies. However,
this sort of incidents are repeating even after tendering apologies, he said. “We saw
many films in this manner which harmed the sentiments of the Hindus. It is necessary
to ban the Zee Studios permanently to see that such incidents are not repeated in
future,” he added.
