Renowned actor Rajinikanth has been granted the prestigious Golden Visa by the UAE’s Department of Culture and Tourism, marking a significant recognition of his contributions to the world of cinema. A video capturing the heartfelt moment of the legendary actor expressing his gratitude towards the Abu Dhabi government and his close associate, MA Yusuff Ali, the chairman and managing director of Lulu Group, has been making rounds on the internet.
In the video, Rajinikanth, aged 73, can be seen extending his heartfelt thanks to the UAE government and Yusuff Ali for the honour and hospitality bestowed upon him. He remarked, “Today, I am honoured to receive a prestigious Golden visa of UAE. My heartfelt thanks to the UAE government, and to my friend Lulu Group, chairman and managing director, Yusuff Ali, without him, this would not have happened, I am grateful to him”.
The Golden Visa was presented to the actor by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), Government of Abu Dhabi, in the presence of MA Yusuff.
During his stay in Abu Dhabi, fondly referred to as Thalaivar, Rajinikanth also took the opportunity to visit the renowned Hindu temple, BAPS, to offer prayers. A video capturing his visit to the temple, where he received an official tour and blessings from the priests, has gone viral on social media. Rajinikanth could be seen admiring the temple’s architecture and receiving blessings with reverence.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth recently wrapped up shooting for his upcoming movie, Vettaiyan, scheduled for release in October 2024. Alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati, the Chandramukhi actor will captivate audiences with his performance.
Looking ahead, Rajinikanth is set to commence shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, starring alongside Shruti Haasan. Additionally, there are reports suggesting a potential reunion with Nelson Dilipkumar for a sequel to Jailer, tentatively titled Hukum, although official confirmation is pending.
