TPCC President Revanth Reddy said that Rajiv Gandhi ushered in the tech revolution in the country. On the occasion of late former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s 79th birth anniversary, Revanth paid tributes to him along with other party leaders at the Rajiv Gandhi statue in Somajiguda.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Rajiv Gandhi’s services to the country are memorable. Rajiv made the words of Mahatma Gandhi that villages are the backbone of the country a reality.
“Rajiv Gandhi introduced Constitutional amendments to give rights and powers to Gram Panchayats.
Local governing organisations were strengthened. He provided a 50% quota for women in local governing organisations. He brought in radical changes in the administration and empowered the poor,” said Revanth.
He recalled that it was Rajiv Gandhi who brought the tech revolution. “Not only in the IT sector but also in the telecom sector, radical changes were brought to even remote villages. Rajiv is an inspiration for the country’s youth. Rajiv Gandhi’s family sacrificed their lives to protect the unity and integrity of the country. On the occasion of his birth anniversary, it is necessary to remember his services and sacrifices for the nation. Let us reunite to protect the country’s integrity,” said Revanth.
He said that the credit for giving the right to vote to youth at the age of 18 belongs to Rajiv.
He said that the BJP is adopting a policy of ‘divide and rule’ in the country and added that the BJP is the British Janata Party. He said that while Manipur is burning, the Prime Minister could not give any assurance to the people there. He was interested only in criticising the Congress.
Revanth again made it clear that the BJP and the BRS are two sides of the same coin. While Modi is robbing the country’s wealth for his friends, KCR is robbing the state’s wealth for his family, he said.
He called on the people to teach these two parties a lesson and save the state and country.
