Must read

Union Minister Kinjirapu Rammohan Naidu has urged the Centre to set a support price of over Rs 11,600 for chilli farmers in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to the media after a key meeting organised by the Ministry of Agriculture in Delhi, he stressed the need for immediate assistance to farmers facing financial distress.
Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s potential in chilli exports and called for establishing an international market. He said Union Agriculture Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan had taken note of the issue and assured consultations with exporters before making a decision.
The minister added that the government would assess the gap between market prices and production costs to address farmers’ concerns. He emphasised the struggles of chilli farmers, particularly in Rayalaseema, Guntur, and Palnadu, and assured them of necessary support.
The farming community now awaits the Centre’s response, hoping for measures to ensure fair prices and economic stability.
