He made the comments after visiting Ranganayaka Sagar project. He said that the project brought back the smiles on the faces of farmers.
He inspected the flow of Godavari water into Ranganayaka Sagar in the district on Saturday. The Minister inspected the lift-irrigation of Godavari waters into the project.
Later addressing the gathering, he said that the Ranganayaka Sagar project stands as an example that the BRS strived to provide irrigation to every acre. He said, “I am so glad to see the flow of water into the project.”
It may be noted that Ranganayaka Sagar was built as part of the Kaleshwaram Project.
The lift-irrigation of Godavari waters into Kaleshwaram Project Link-2 is under way. Water from SripadaYellampalli reservoir is reaching Nandi Pump House at Nandimedaram through two tunnels. Using the heavy-duty motor, 3150 cusecs is pumped into Nandi reservoir, from where the water is reaching Gayatri pump house in Lakshmipur of Karimnagar district.
At Gayatri pump house, a single motor is being used to pump 3150 cusecs of water into Srirajarajeswara reservoir. Till Saturday evening, over 13 tmc of water pumped to Mid-Maneru project, where the total water stored was put at 17.06 tmc against the full reservoir level of 27.54 tmc ft.
From Mid-Maneru water is being discharged into Annapurna project in Anantagirimandal of Illantakuntamandal of Siricilla district.
From Mid-Maneru project, the Godavari water is finding its way to surgepool at Tippapur through underground tunnels. Using two heavy duty motors, 6440 cusecs is being pumped into Annapurna reservoir, which opened its gates to discharge water into the Ranganayaka Sagar.
