The Congress government will scrap the Musi River Rejuvenation Project if former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao says that there is no need for that, Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said.
“No one dared to put this question to KCR. But I am asking KCR, who is too intellectual and has read 80,000 books, to reveal whether the Musi Project is needed or not. I will convince Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to stop this project if KCR says there is no need for the Musi Project,” Venkat said.
Criticising BRS Working President KT Rama Rao for going to New Delhi for Lagacharla victims, he said that KTR made the police beat up farmers regarding the Pharma City issue when he was in power. Now the same KTR made his men attack
the Collector in the name of farmers, he said and asked whether the Kaleshwaram Project could have been completed if the Congress had attacked the BRS government.
Reacting to a question, Venkat said KTR can be arrested only as per law. The law will take its own course. Already the police are doing their job, he said.
Addressing the media at the secretariat on Monday, Venkat said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone for development projects costing Rs 4,000 crore in Warangal on Tuesday. Although the Warangal Airport issue has been in the news since 1999, the dream is becoming a reality only now, he said. The government will complete work within a year and ensure that flights land in Warangal.
“We are going to make arrangements to operate flights from Warangal to Tirupati, Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi within one and a half years. We would also build the Bhadradri Kothagudem and Ramagundam greenfield airports. The Congress government will construct three more airports in the state,” he said.
