Reconnect with public: Jagan to partymen

Must read

Former chief minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy encouraged party members to remain positive and confident as they reconnect with the public. He emphasised that their recent electoral loss was neither fair nor just. He urged members to remember that every household had benefited from the YSRCP’s welfare agenda over the past five years.
Speaking at the YSRCP’s extended meeting, attended by former ministers, MPs, and MLAs, YS Jagan expressed optimism about the party’s future. He believes that the party will regain power with greater strength in the 2029 Assembly elections, as people will eventually see through Chandrababu’s alleged deceptions.
Reviewing the party’s performance in the recent elections, the YSRCP chief highlighted that the party retained 60 per cent of its vote share, losing only 10 per cent compared to 2019. He expressed confidence that this 10 per cent would soon recognise the deceptive tactics of TDP leader Chandrababu.
YS Jagan pointed out that the YSRCP had implemented 99 per cent of its manifesto promises, an unprecedented achievement in the state’s history. He highlighted the disbursement of Rs 2.7 lakh crore to the people through the direct benefit transfer (DBT) program and noted the significant increase in pension amounts and beneficiaries during his term. He questioned the lack of gratitude from the 66 lakh pensioners who had directly benefited from his government’s policies.
YS Jagan also condemned the TDP for allegedly attacking YSRCP supporters and vandalizing their properties after the election results were announced on June 4. He asserted that his government’s welfare benefits were extended to everyone, regardless of caste, religion, or political affiliation, unlike the TDP. In contrast, the TDP has announced that senior leader and Narsipatnam MLA C Ayyannapatrudu is set to be elected as the Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
The first session of the newly elected State Assembly is scheduled for June 21 and 22.
Recently, senior TDP leader Ayyannapatrudu made a controversial remark, stating, “Jagan was defeated but not dead,” which was widely circulated on social media.
Responding to these remarks, YS Jagan said, “Someone says that Jagan has lost but not dead. Another says that he should be beaten to death.” Likening TDP leaders to “Kauravas,” YS Jagan expressed doubt that the ruling party would heed his words. However, he affirmed his commitment to fight for people’s rights and raise their issues on the Assembly floor.
YS Jagan criticised Chandrababu Naidu for TDP members’ aggressive actions against unarmed YSRCP supporters, suggesting that karma would soon catch up with them.
