“Telangana is growing as fast as the national average or even faster. Our software exports prove this. While the national growth rate was 8%, Telangana recorded 17.98%, said IT Minister D Sridhar Babu at the FTCCI – Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce GrowthX 2025 Summit.
The ICT Committee of FTCCI organised the “Go Digital, Grow Business” summit at HICC Novotel on Saturday.
Addressing the summit, Sridhar Babu emphasised the rapid pace of digital innovation and the need for industries to adapt it. He noted that MSMEs and SMEs face challenges such as limited capital, fear of change and lack of awareness. Without adopting new technologies, they risk losing competitiveness.
The Minister announced that the government aims to make Telangana a $1 trillion economy and will work with FTCCI to support industry growth. He emphasised the importance of AI in improving efficiency and profitability. He also noted that the recent Global AI Summit was a step toward integrating AI into Telangana’s growth trajectory.
Meanwhile, Special Chief Secretary to the IT Department, Jayesh Ranjan, stated that 40% of India’s new tech jobs come from Telangana. He highlighted the state’s strong IT growth, evolving beyond IT services.
Jayesh Ranjan noted that over the past 10 to 15 years, IT services’ share in software exports has dropped to 30%, while non-IT services now contribute 70%. The biggest driver of this growth has been Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with over 70 multi-national corporations (MNCs) choosing Hyderabad.
He also mentioned that Amazon Alexa, Google Maps and cloud development work heavily in Hyderabad, making it a hub for IT product development.
Over 450 participants, including decision-makers, CXOs, FTCCI members, IT professionals, policymakers, investors and startups attended the summit.
