Coming down heavily on the YSRCP for plundering natural resources, Jana Sena chief K Pawan Kalyan alleged the Red Sand Dunes which are located on the sea coast are being destroyed by the YSRCP leaders.

Pawan Kalyan, along with Nadendla Manohar and other leaders, visited the Red Sand Dunes, called as Erra Matti Dibbalu in local parlance, on Wednesday. Pawan Kalyan saw the way in which the precious Erra Matti Dibbalu were being destroyed by the YSRCP leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that it is the responsibility of the government to conserve the inherited natural wealth to give them to the next generation. But, unfortunately the YSRCP leaders do not feel such responsibility since they know only plundering of natural resources, he slammed.

The YSRCP leaders previously plundered the natural resources in Telangana. The precious minerals, located beside the Kurnool airport, were also plundered by the YSRCP leaders. The Geological Survey of India has also recognized the red sand dunes are 20,000 years old and they formed naturally, he stated.

262 acres have been identified as heritage assets and suggested to be preserved. In South Asia, the red sand dunes are located in Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka in Andhra Pradesh. Since they are a gift of nature, it should be taken care of very carefully, Pawan Kalyan said.

It is unfortunate to see real estate ventures adjacent to such an important heritage place, changing the appearance of the red sand dunes. Many trees around were also felled. Even the VMRDA, which is supposed to protect the property remain as mute spectators. The YSRCP is working with a sole intention of plundering all the natural resources available in North AP districts, he lambasted.

The Jana Sena Party will complain to the Central Government as well as the National Green Tribunal on the destruction of Red Sand Dunes. If there is no change in the style of functioning of the state government, for the conservation of Erra Matti Dibbalu, the JSP will launch a battle to protect them”, he announced.
