Jana Sena chief K Pawan Kalyan has promised to ensure Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers’ produce if his alliance secures victory in the upcoming elections. He also alleged that red sanders smugglers had been despatched to Pithapuram to sabotage his campaign.
Emphasising the commitment of his alliance to support farmers, Kalyan stated, “We stand firm on our promise to offer fair prices for agricultural goods, ensuring the welfare of our farming community.”
Kalyan criticised the administration’s handling of recent incidents, highlighting a disparity in treatment between cases. “While a minor incident led to a murder charge against an individual who threw a stone towards Jagan Mohan Reddy, no action has been taken against YSRCP leader Ananta Babu, accused of killing his Dalit car driver,” Kalyan asserted.
Regarding the alleged deployment of red sander smugglers in Pithapuram, Kalyan remained resolute. “Despite these underhanded tactics, I am undeterred. Let it be known that this is not 2019; it’s 2014,” he declared, signalling a call for change in the state’s leadership.
Responding to comments made by Jagan Reddy concerning the attire of his sister and APCC President YS Sharmila, Kalyan criticised the remarks as inappropriate. “Jagan Reddy’s commentary on Sharmila’s attire reflects poorly on him. Such behaviour threatens the security of women in our society,” Kalyan expressed.
Kalyan condemned what he perceived as a pattern of disrespect towards women by the ruling party. “From insulting my wife to now denigrating his own sister, and even targeting Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, Suneetha, Jagan Reddy has consistently stooped to new lows,” Kalyan remarked.
Addressing his wealth, Kalyan clarified his motivations for entering politics. “My earnings over five years amount to Rs 70 crore, for which I have duly paid taxes. My pursuit in politics is driven by a desire to serve the people, not to amass wealth,” he affirmed.
Highlighting issues of neglect in governance, Kalyan lamented the state’s inadequate attention to irrigation projects, resulting in hardships for farmers. “Farmers have been forced to declare crop holidays due to water shortages, reflecting the government’s failure to prioritise their needs,” he stated.
Kalyan also criticized the defection of Razole MLA Rapaka Vara Prasad to the YSRCP, accusing him of betraying the trust of voters. “Despite acquiring vast properties, including a five-acre estate, Vara Prasad has neglected the plight of farmers affected by crop failures,” Kalyan criticized.
In closing, Kalyan questioned the government’s response to the burning of the sacred chariot at the Antarvedi temple, urging accountability for the perpetrators.
