BRS MLC Kavitha has strongly condemned the delay in releasing Rythu Bharosa funds by the TG government and has demanded its immediate, full disbursement.
She also called for the immediate clearance of the pending bills of sarpanches, warning that failure to do so would lead to a massive stir.
Several former sarpanches met Kavitha at her residence on Thursday and told her about the problems faced by farmers and the burden caused by the non-clearance of their bills. Addressing them, Kavitha accused the government of lacking sincerity in supporting farmers, stating that during KCR’s rule, Rythu Bandhu funds were credited to farmers’ bank accounts without delay. She criticised the Revanth Government for releasing only minimal amounts in phases leaving farmers in distress.
She questioned the rationale behind withholding full payments when the farming season had already progressed much and described it as an outright betrayal of farmers. “If the government continues to deceive farmers, we will take to the streets and launch a protest across the state,” she warned.
On the pending bills of sarpanches, Kavitha lashed out at the Congress government’s inefficiency, pointing out that even a year after the term of the sarpanches ended, their dues are unpaid. She expressed anguish over the plight of grassroots representatives who served the public but are now struggling financially, with some even facing suicidal distress.
She demanded that the government should immediately clear the dues of sarpanches.
