The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) seems to have reconciled to the ugly fact that the language of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, often punctuated with profanities, is intended for a curated audience. One thing is obvious: Revanth’s brash style of making his point has not changed even naam ke vasthe, despite his becoming the Chief Minister. Aside from BRS, people in general may not like some of the cusswords that Revanth loves to use doosronki badnaami ke liye. All along, BRS has been critical of Revanth’s profane language. Curiously, former CM and BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao, in his latest press meet, was not overtly critical of Revanth’s language. A BRS leader explained this interesting and quiet shift: “Revanth Reddy is like actor Nandamuri Balakrishna (aka Balayya). His movies are invariably the butt of jokes; his fights defy laws of physics; and yet, at the end of the day, Balayya comes out in flying colours at least for his set of audience. He will make movies for his set of audience since they like his style. What if others mock him or criticise him? Same is the case with Revanth Reddy. His language is not going to change, much less to appease anyone. He is focused on his set of audience who he believes admire his ‘natural’ ways and contributed to his victory.
