Eatala gets special treatment, unlike other BJP MLAs

Bharatiya Janata Party’s prize catch from BRS Eatala Rajender is getting special treatment, unlike other BJP legislators who have been attacked.
While there have been many attacks on many BJP legislators, including state president Bandi Sanjay, MP Dharmapuri Arvind, and MLA Raja Singh for example, none of them got a security upgrade. However, based on mere allegations by Eatala’s wife Jamuna Reddy, the state government and the Union governments reacted quickly.
On Wednesday, state police brass visited Eatala’s house in Shamirpet and checked the security detail. Hours after the allegations, Minister K T Rama Rao asked DGP to investigate it. In no time, reports surfaced that the Central government is planning to give Y category security to Eatala.
Raja Singh has raised his voice several times on his security concerns. In February2023, the attack on his car was so bad that he even asked authorities to provide a new vehicle or withdraw it.
In May2023, BJP MLA M. Raghunandan Rao said he had been receiving an increasing number of threat calls and requested enhanced security. He complained that the police werenot responding despite being informed about mounting threat calls.In both cases, the MLAs raised concerns. But the third BJP MLA and new entrant Eatala got immediate attention.
Political analysts see this as a push from the Centre for Eatala’s elevation. For, generally when there is a threat, a complaint should be given and inquiry done. Based on the enquiry report, security is enhanced.
Sources said that at least the State police tried to follow rules, but wondered if the Centre did its part. So far, no official order increasing his security has been released. Political analysts said that a Y category will enhance Eatala’s image in public.
Revanth Reddy had to approach Court for enhanced security during his Padayatra. What is important to note is that almost all BJP leaders were attacked at some point or the other.
Bandi Sanjay was attacked several times. In fact, their own in-charge Tarun Chug said: “Bandi Sanjay didnot care about security concerns but went ahead with PrajaSangrama Yatra from Charminar”.
Dharmapuri Arvind was attacked in his Nizamabad house, and in Hyderabad stones were pelted. Official sources hinted that the reports of threat were allegedly not sent and enhanced security to Eatala will create hype.
Sources said: “A constituency fight is being made into a state issue. Evidently Eatala’s lobby with BJP high command is very strong. He gets appointments, security, and everything quickly. The reactions can be seen as steps before Eatala getting promotion as campaign committee chairman and Bandi Sanjay is likely to be sidelined.”
