TPCC President Revanth Reddy and senior BRS leader Thummala Nageshwara Rao went to Bengaluru to meet Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shiva Kumar to discuss Thummala joining the Congress.
Apart from discussing Thummala joining the Congress, the TPCC President discussed the merger of the YSRTP with the Congress. They may also discuss the assurances that can be given to Thummala Nageshwara Rao and YS Sharmila regarding the constituency from which to contest and will finalise the modalities about the joining of others, it is learnt.
The victorious Karnataka Congress unit has been working on Telangana’s Assembly elections aiming to repeat the Karnataka victory in Telangana.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President DK Shiva Kumar is looking after Telangana Congress developments as per the directions of the high command as Telangana is a neighbouring state. DK has the experience of working with the Telangana Congress during the 2018 Assembly elections and he knows almost all TS leaders.
DK has been holding talks with the leaders of other parties interested in joining the Congress. DK, who played a pivotal role in the victory of the Congress in Karnataka, had discussions with former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and former Minister Jupally Krishna Rao before they joined the Congress.
Telangana Congress leaders like TPCC President A. Revanth Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy and other leaders have met DK to discuss TS developments.
