Congress party’s ideological bankruptcy exposed

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) A Revanth Reddy’s opposition to uninterrupted power supply to the farm sector reflected the Congress party’s ideological bankruptcy, said Minister for Forests and Endowments A Indrakaran Reddy on Tuesday.

The Minister led the protest rally at Rythu Vedika at New Pochampadu village under Nirmal rural mandal in respect to the call by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao call to hold protest meetings. The protest rally was intended to expose the Congress party’s “anti-farmer policy.”

Indrakaran Reddy sought to know whether any farmer complained to Revantha Reddy that the government had failed to provide a round-the-clock power supply to the farm sector. The TPCC president lacked basic knowledge about agriculture. He wondered whether Revanth Reddy had at any time practised agriculture.

The Minister claimed that the farmers were happy with the State government providing water for irrigation and round-the-clock power to raise three crops a year. The credit for establishing a farmer-friendly government goes to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The Congress leaders were green with envy because the farmers expressed their happiness over the government’s pro-farmer policies. The Congress used the farmers for vote bank politics, he said.

He reminded the farmers that the Chief Minister ensured that the paddy was procured to the last grain though the Centre threw its hands up. The input subsidy under the Rythu Bandhu scheme and insurance cover for farmers under Rythu Bandhu was being implemented in the State. He questioned the Congress leaders as to why the schemes were not introduced in the Congress-ruled States. He asked the farmers whether they wanted a three-hour power supply or three crops.

A resolution introduced by BRS leaders that “We want three crops and we do not want a three-hour power supply” was adopted amid loud cheers.
