Review: Mr. Pregnant An emotional drama with a fair dose of humour and a good message

Must read

Plot
Syed Sohel Ryan’s character, Gautham, is a tattoo artist. Roopa Koduvayur’s character, Mahi, admires Gautham, and the duo eventually fall in love. When they decide to get married, Gautham puts forward the condition that they never have kids in their lives, and Mahi agrees (not hearfully, but because she madly loves Gautham). But Mahi becomes pregnant, and Gautham makes the impulsive decision to carry the child inside his body like a woman who is expecting. The story continues with an explanation of Gautham’s motivation, his challenges, how he deals with society and family, and the message he wishes to spread.

Performances
Sohel deserves a special appreciation for playing a very challenging role in this film. His role in the movie had many chances to draw a lot of flak; however, he played it very neatly, and his overall performance was very impressive. He was adept at conveying both humour and feelings. He gave his best performance in this movie.

Roopa Koduvayur, on the other hand, puts on a strong display. She was able to leave a mark on the movie with her part.

Suhasini Maniratnam, Harsha Chemudu, and Brahmaji give the plot greater complexity.
On the other hand, Raja Ravindra and Ali were underutilised.

Analysis
The movie features a distinctive theme, which is undoubtedly new to the Telugu audience. This story’s message, which the creators attempted to convey, was excellent. The director was good at drawing the lines between borders to not go overboard in any scene, as this is one such sensitive topic that is made into a movie.

One can relate to many scenes in the movie, especially if you are a woman.

It had just the right amount of humour and sentiment to hold the audience’s interest.

The dialogue, especially in the climax, was touchy.

That being said, the narration had more scope to be racy. But, overall, the director was successful in getting his point across to his audience and giving viewers a three-hour emotional ride.

Technically speaking, the cinematography is excellent, and the music transports you emotionally; however, the editing could’ve been crisper in the first half.

The producers once again proved that content is king with this movie.

Conclusion
Overall, Mr. Pregnant is an emotional drama with a fair dose of humour, a worthwhile lesson to learn, and a lot of feelings. A new story will draw viewers to the film, which is guaranteed.
