Rising violence plunged AP into chaos: Amarnath

Must read

Former state minister Gudivada Amarnath has issued a stark warning about the spiralling violence and collapse of law and order in the state, squarely blaming the turmoil on the contentious implementation of the Red Book Constitution. Speaking to the media on Thursday, Amarnath lambasted allied forces for intensifying assaults on YSRCP workers and leaders, severely restricting public movement throughout the region.
Amarnath presented chilling statistics, laying bare a surge in appalling crimes including atrocities, murders, and rapes. Shockingly, in just the past 45 days, the state has been rocked by over 1000 violent incidents, claiming 31 lives, pushing 35 individuals to suicide, and leaving over 300 others fighting for survival after attempted murders.
The aftermath has left both public and private properties scarred and ravaged, painting a stark portrait of unchecked lawlessness.
The former minister spared no words in condemning the recent savage killing of a minority youth leader in Vinukonda, a crime marked by grotesque mutilation. He also vehemently denounced the brutal assault on MP Midhun Reddy at the residence of former Chittoor MP N Reddeppa, decrying these acts as brazen violations of constitutional norms. Amarnath pointedly accused the perpetrators of prioritizing allegiance to the Red Book Constitution over the established legal framework of India.
Amarnath sharply criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, insisting on complete transparency by promptly issuing a detailed white paper on the current security crisis before initiating any peace efforts.
Urgently, he appealed to the central government to intervene, advocating for an unbiased investigation to restore public safety swiftly.
Shifting gears to pressing environmental concerns in Visakhapatnam, Amarnath underscored the critical imperative to safeguard the Erra Matti Dibbalu, or red sand dunes, a geological marvel steeped in profound historical and archaeological significance.
He forcefully demanded an immediate cessation of illegal construction activities and land developments that brazenly flout Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) regulations.
Expressing deep consternation over the persistent disregard for environmental standards despite leadership changes, Amarnath reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to leveraging legal avenues to shield these culturally and ecologically rich landscapes from further despoliation.
