Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to align the construction of the Regional Ring Road (South), radial roads and other highways with the needs of the next 50 years.

At a high-level review meeting held at his residence on Tuesday night, the Chief Minister emphasised that the road network should be future-ready and seamlessly connected to satellite townships and industrial parks.

During the review, Revanth examined the proposed alignment for the RRR (South) and suggested several changes. He asked officials to carry out a detailed LiDAR survey in advance, particularly considering forest areas, water bodies, mandal headquarters and villages to avoid complications.

“Precautions must be taken to ensure that there are no errors in finalising the alignment,” the Chief Minister warned.

He stressed that the design of radial roads should complement the planned satellite townships and industrial parks. The Chief Minister asked officials to fast-track the construction process of radial roads from the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to the RRR.

Revanth advised that national and state highways leading out of Hyderabad and touching the outer areas of the RRR should be connected through trumpet interchanges. This, he said, would ensure free-flowing traffic without signals or congestion.

Referring to the Hyderabad–Srisailam National Highway, the Chief Minister reviewed the proposed elevated corridor and suggested changes to its alignment. He also asked officials to speed up proposals for an alternative highway from the ORR to Mancherial via Rajiv Rahadari to cater to future transport and industrial needs.

He asked the Roads and Buildings Department to prepare alternative alignments and examine the feasibility of industrial parks along this route.

Officials were also asked to regularly coordinate with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on these new road projects.
