Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed concern over the diminishing influence of Telugu leaders in national politics and urged the community to revive its legacy.
Speaking at the 12th World Telugu Conference held at the HICC in Hyderabad, Revanth highlighted the significant contributions of stalwarts like Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, PV Narasimha Rao, NTR and Jaipal Reddy, who played pivotal roles in shaping the country’s political landscape.
“It is disheartening to see the reduced presence of Telugu leaders in national politics today. We must work together to restore our prominence,” he said, addressing the gathering of Telugu-speaking individuals from across the globe.
Revanth emphasized the importance of preserving Telugu culture and language. “Excelling in politics, cinema and commerce is important, but we must never forget the value of our mother tongue. While learning other languages is necessary, respecting and promoting Telugu is crucial,” he stated.
The Chief Minister stressed the government’s efforts to honour the Telugu language, including issuing official orders in Telugu.
Revanth called upon the global Telugu diaspora to invest in Telangana and
support its development initiatives. “Telugu people across the world have excelled in various fields. I urge them to contribute to Telangana’s growth under the Telangana Rising initiative and Vision 2050,” he said.
The Chief Minister also outlined plans to transform Hyderabad into a world-class “Future City” and emphasized the need for both Telugu states – Telangana and Andhra Pradesh – to compete globally and progress together.
“This is the moment to unite and ensure that Telugu culture and achievements shine on the world stage. Let us work together to make our states models of excellence,” he concluded.
